As National Legal and Policy Center has focused on millions of dollars in anonymous donations to the University of Pennsylvania from Chinese sources after forming a partnership with former Vice President Joe Biden in early 2018, other news sites wonder if there is some kind of quid pro quo between now-President Biden and his nominee for ambassador to Germany, Penn President Amy Gutmann.
Following Biden’s departure from the Obama administration, Gutmann brought him on board at the university, placing him as figurehead leading the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement, based in Washington, DC. Besides the non-transparent $22 million in donations from China that came in after Biden came aboard, there was the handsome salary he was paid for what appeared to be almost no work.
Now she’s been offered a prestigious job in the administration, serving in Berlin.
Biden Nominates UPenn President for German Ambassadorship; Gutmann Still Hasn’t Identified Chinese Donors
From FoxNews.com by Michael Ruiz, Jon Street
Amy Gutmann is the Christopher H. Browne Distinguished Professor of Political Science and was praised by Fortune in 2018 as one of the “World’s 50 Greatest Leaders,” according to the university.
And she’s been president of UPenn since 2004.
But between 2013 and last year, the university allegedly received tens of millions in undisclosed donations from China, according to the National Legal and Policy Center, a conservative-leaning public ethics group. And the dollar totals dramatically increased after the school opened its Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement.
The NLPC filed a complaint against UPenn last year, alleging $22 million in “anonymous” donations from the country for the Biden Center and $70 million from China in total.

Before his confirmation by the Senate as Secretary of State, National Legal and Policy Center called upon Tony Blinken to explain the anonymous Chinese funding associated with the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement that Biden established at Penn in 2018, where Blinken was Managing Director. He and other Biden aides from the Obama Administration operated as the government-in-waiting, funded by millions of dollars from China. The Senate never forced Blinken to answer questions about the Biden Center’s China funding during his confirmation hearings.
Hoover Institution scholar and Fox News contributor Victor Davis Hanson this week pondered how and why so many public figures — mainly on the political left — are caught in hypocrisy as they project sins and prejudices upon others that they themselves are guilty of.
He cites several examples, including Rhode Island Democrat Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, Barack and Michelle Obama, and President Joe Biden. But topping his list is recently dispatched Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors, who National Legal and Policy Center has exposed through media reports as a “Marxist” who happens to collect million-dollar homes in white neighborhoods while shielding her lavish spending from public view.
From Hanson’s commentary at American Greatness:

First-time “artist” Hunter Biden is planning to put his work on the market with prices for single pieces going for up to $500,000. From an article in the Washington Free Beacon by Alana Goodman:
“This is clearly a way for [Hunter Biden] to earn money, a lot of money, without anybody knowing who’s paying him,” said Tom Anderson, director of the Government Integrity Project at the National Legal and Policy Center, an ethics watchdog group.
From the same article:
Anderson said the White House should publicly disclose the names of the buyers—even if the gallery doesn’t—and have the sales reviewed by ethics lawyers.
“Legally, [Biden] doesn’t have to disclose anything. But just for the office of the presidency, it’s just the right thing to do to be transparent and to let everybody know who’s paying for what,” said Anderson. “Why would you want … Read More ➡
