Western Pennsylvania Communications Workers Treasurer Pleads Guilty

cwa-logoOn August 3, Michael Rhoades, former secretary-treasurer for Communications Workers of America Local 88667, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania to embezzling more than $8,000 in funds from the Latrobe, Pa. union. He had been indicted in August 2008 on one count of embezzlement during June-November 2006. The guilty plea follows a probe by the Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
