On August 13, LaRose Elsezy, former administrative assistant and bookkeeper for Local 1923 of the American Federation of Government Employees, was sentenced in U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland to six months home confinement and three years probation for one count of theft. Elsezy, who pleaded guilty in June, also was ordered to pay restitution to the Baltimore union in the amount of $44,316.58. AFGE Local 1923 represents employees of the Social Security Administration.
