Pittsburgh Roofers Secretary Pleads Guilty to Embezzlement

RoofersOn June 29, Anne O’Rourke, former office secretary of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers Local 37, pled guilty in U.S. to two counts of embezzling union funds in the amount of $23,057 and falsifying records of the Pittsburgh-area union to conceal the thefts. She subsequently was sentenced to two years probation on each count, and ordered to make $6,059.45 in remaining restitution plus a $125 special assessment. She had been charged last August following a Labor Department probe.
