On June 29, Anne O’Rourke, former office secretary of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers Local 37, pled guilty in U.S. to two counts of embezzling union funds in the amount of $23,057 and falsifying records of the Pittsburgh-area union to conceal the thefts. She subsequently was sentenced to two years probation on each count, and ordered to make $6,059.45 in remaining restitution plus a $125 special assessment. She had been charged last August following a Labor Department probe.
