Former Treasurer of Kentucky Soft Drink Workers Union Sentenced for Theft
On August 10, James Decker, former treasurer of the Independent Soft Drink Workers Union, was sentenced in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky to 10 months imprisonment and two years supervised release for theft of union funds. He also will have to pay $5,684 in restitution to the Burlington, Ky.-based union in addition to the $5,057 he already has paid. The sentencing follows a probe by the U.S. Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
