On July 12, Sid Mannetti, former president of American Federation of Government Employees Local 1170, was sentenced in U.S. District Court for the District of Western Washington to two years probation with six months of home confinement for embezzling $50,463 in union funds during 2006-08. He also will have to pay full restitution. He had pleaded guilty in April. AFGE Local 1170 represents employees at Pacific Medical Centers in the Seattle area. The guilty plea and sentencing follow an investigation by the U.S. Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
