On July 13, Peter Maisel Jr., former treasurer of Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees Local 1517, was sentenced in U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado to five years probation for embezzling funds from the Pueblo union. He also was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $9,514.79. He pled guilty in April. The sentencing follows a probe by the Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
