On July 20, Andrew Blackmon, former president of United Steelworkers of America Local 842 in Detroit, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan to one count of falsifying union records. He had been charged in June. The guilty plea follows a probe by the Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
