On November 29, Mozelle Means-Swanson, former president of Local 7139 of the American Postal Workers Union in Aurora, Ill., was sentenced in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois to two years probation and ordered to make $3,340 in restitution for willfully failing to maintain union records to cover her thefts. Indicted in May for embezzling $4,900 in union funds, she pleaded guilty in September. The actions follow an investigation by the U.S. Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
