On October 14, Deidra Lucas, former president of American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 100, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan to embezzling $5,283.20 in funds from the Pontiac-based union. She is set for sentencing on January 6. The guilty plea follows a probe by the Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
