On November 5, 2010, Karl Youngerman, former president of Glass, Molders, Pottery, Plastics & Allied Workers International Union Local 208, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida to conspiracy to embezzle funds from the Bradenton union. He agreed to pay restitution in the amount of $18,218.91 to Zurich North America. Sentencing is scheduled for January 27. Youngerman is the last of the three defendants to face justice in this case. Last September 28, Anthony Green and Woodrow Anderson, respectively, the former vice president and treasurer of the local, each received a prison sentence of two years, plus 180 days of home confinement, and were ordered to make restitution. The actions follow a probe by the Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
