On November 12, 
Freida Carter-London, former office manager of Local 1421 of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas to embezzling $99,178 in funds from the Arlington, Tex.-based union. The guilty plea follows a probe by the Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
