On December 22, James Drury, formerly secretary-treasurer of Communications Workers of America Local 3121, was charged in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida with embezzling $306,757.53 from the Hialeah-based union during December 2005-March 2009. The charge follows a joint probe by the Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards and Office of Inspector General.
