On January 12, Jesse Daniels, former financial secretary of United Steelworkers Local 7-1011S, was indicted in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana for embezzling $19,500 from the East Chicago, Ind.-based union. The indictment follows a probe by the U.S. Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
