Former Glass Workers President in Florida Sentenced

gmp-glassworkersOn February 2, Karl Youngerman, former president of Glass, Molders, Pottery, Plastics & Allied Workers International Union Local 208, was sentenced in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida to five years probation for conspiracy to embezzle funds from the Bradenton union in the amount of $18,218.91. He also was ordered to pay restitution in that amount to Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland. Youngerman had pleaded guilty in November. The guilty plea and sentencing follow an investigation by the Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
