Transportation Workers Secretary-Treasurer in Pennsylvania Indicted

RailroadOn July 11, Brandon Borders, formerly secretary-treasurer of United Transportation Union Local 997, was indicted in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania for embezzling $12,551.16 from the Camp Hill, Pa.-based union. Borders, 47, a resident of Harrisburg, allegedly stole the funds from late 2005 to August 2009. The local represents Norfolk Southern railroad employees. The charge follows an investigation by the Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
