On September 30, James Hunter, former treasurer of United Auto Workers Local 1542, was sentenced in U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware to one year probation and was ordered to pay $1,048.04 in restitution and a $25 special assessment for making a false statement in financial records of the Newark, Del.-based union. He pled guilty in June. The sentencing follows an investigation by the U.S. Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
