Local Letter Carriers President in Kentucky Sentenced

letter carriers logoOn October 13, Max Messamore, former president of National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 2039, was sentenced in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky to two years probation, fined $500, and ordered to pay $2,293.77 in restitution and a $50 special assessment for failing to properly maintain records of the Somerset, Ky. union. He had pleaded guilty in May. The guilty plea and sentencing follows a probe by the Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
