On October 17, Freda Hensley, former president of United Steelworkers Local 8-14505, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia to embezzling $38,539.68 in funds from the West Logan, W.Va.-based union. The guilty plea follows an investigation by the U.S. Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
