Chicago-Area Local AFGE Officials Indicted for Theft, Fraud

afge logo_0On July 17, James Charleston, Jacquelyn Pugh-Rodgers and Mary Craigen, respectively, the former president, vice president and secretary-treasurer of American Federation of Government Employees Local 2107, each were indicted for embezzlement in an amount of more than $1,000 and two counts of mail fraud. The North Chicago, Ill. (Lake County) union represents employees of the North Chicago VA Medical Center. The charges follow a probe by the U.S. Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
