On July 13, Michael Morgenson, former treasurer of United Steelworkers Local 12-175, pleaded guilty in the Superior Court of Washington, County of Jefferson, to forgery and theft from the Port Townsend, Wash. union. He then was sentenced to 364 days in jail and required to make restitution in the amount of $7,000. The guilty plea and sentencing follow a probe by the U.S. Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
