On September 27, Graciela Jimenez, secretary-treasurer of Local 2263 of the American Federation of Government Employees, was sentenced in U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico to three years of probation and ordered to pay $7,919 in restitution plus a $25 assessment for embezzling funds from the Albuquerque-based union. Jimenez pled guilty in June. The guilty plea and sentencing follow a probe by the U.S. Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
