On October 22, Barbara Patton, former president of American Postal Workers Union Local 4469, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania to concealing thefts in financial records of the Johnstown, Pa. union. She then was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to pay a $25 assessment. Patton previously had paid $1,705.41 in restitution following her indictment in March 2010 for making unauthorized use of her credit card in the amount of $2,015.78. The actions follow an investigation by the Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
