On May 14, Johnny Torres Jr., former financial secretary for Glass, Molders, Pottery, Plastics and Allied Workers Local 259, was indicted in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas for embezzling $9,947 in funds from the Waco-based union. The indictment follows a probe by the Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
