On May 8, William Mochrie, former secretary-treasurer of United Steelworkers Local 28, was charged in an information count in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York with falsifying records of the Castleton, N.Y. (near Albany) union. The charge follows an investigation by the U.S. Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
