On June 20, Paulette McClure, former financial treasurer for United Government Security Officers of America Local 36, was sentenced in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi to three months of incarceration and two months of supervised release for embezzlement of funds from the Port Gibson, Miss.-based union and forgery to cover up the theft. She also was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $3,161.82. McClure had been charged last December with embezzling $8,166.13 and pleaded guilty in March. The embezzlement charge had been dismissed at the time of sentencing. The actions follow a probe by the U.S. Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
