On August 29, David Barr, former secretary-treasurer for Glass, Molders, Pottery, Plastics and Allied Workers International Union Local 99, was charged in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania with embezzling funds in the amount of $5,688 from the New Brighton (northwest of Pittsburgh) union. The charge follows an investigation by the U.S. Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
