On September 30, Jeanette Bowman, ex-treasurer of National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 280, was sentenced in Marion County, Ohio Court of Common Pleas to 120 days of electronic monitoring and five years of community control for theft of funds from the Marion, Ohio union in the amount of $16,347. She also was ordered to pay full restitution. Bowman had pleaded guilty in August following a joint probe by the U.S. Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards and the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.
