Maryland CWA Secretary-Treasurer Pleads Guilty to Theft

On November 21, Fonda White, former secretary-treasurer of Communications Workers of America Local 2390, pleaded guilty in the Circuit Court of Prince George’s County, Md. to one count of theft in an amount of at least $10,000 but less than $100,000 from the Maugansville (near Hagerstown), Md.-based union. White had been indicted in July for the charge to which she would plead guilty, plus three other charges, following a probe by the U.S. Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
