Not content to throw his weight around to transform the entire energy industry, Larry Fink has now turned his attention to altering the political system.
The CEO of top finance firm BlackRock, which reportedly controls more than $9 trillion in assets, has developed a reputation for progressive agenda pressure tactics against the companies they invest in – most recognizably on the issue of climate change, but also on social issues related to race and gender. Fink likes to write open letters to CEOs and board members in which he prods and threatens their corporations to do things like “divest” from fossil fuels (even if that is their core business) and report hypothetical “risks” from the effects of global warming. Those who fail to comply can find BlackRock potentially voting against renewal of their directorships, or worse.

Much of corporate America is once again banding together to attack the social construct of the nation and many of its liberties, all in the name of conferring special rights and privileges upon individuals who don’t accept or acknowledge the gender they were born with.
The occasion this time was to get behind the “Equality Act,” which the Democrat-controlled U.S. House recently passed. The misnamed legislation purports to enact law that prohibits “anti-Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender/Queer (LGBTQ) discrimination,” but in practice would put the kibosh on almost all other rights and freedoms Americans possess –including speech, association, privacy, and property rights. Most of what the law would do is bastardize the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by adding “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” to “race, color, religion, sex, or national origin” discrimination protections.

The horrific shootings at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. – other than the obvious evil present in killer Nikolas Cruz – have been the result of a massive breakdown of government institutions – from deputies who didn’t enter the school, to the many warnings about Cruz that were ignored by authorities, to the failure of federal, state and local lawmakers to fortify their schools with armed security to protect students and faculty after too many incidents already.
Nonetheless the pressure groups of the Left and the legacy media, in the immediate days following the incident, trained their sights on the National Rifle Association, its millions of members, its finances, its influence, and its corporate partners.
