On July 9, Richard Ikerd, former secretary-treasurer for American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 2568, was charged in the 19th District Court of Wayne County, Michigan with one count of embezzlement of between $1,000 and $20,000 from the Melvindale-based union. The charge follows an investigation by the U.S. Labor Department’s Office of Labor-management Standards.
